In 1978, Gary Rogers and his wife built the original log home on the property. While they were building they moved a couple of small cabins onto the property to live in until the log home was completed. The Rogers eventually moved a few more cabins to the property and started a little roadside lodging business with a par 3 mini golf course.
The Rogers’ sold to Steve and Diane Ingram (Snoop) in 1999. The Ingram's named their new business venture Ingram's Sports Fishing Cabins and made more improvements by adding two loft cabins.
In 2002, the Ingram's brought in a partner, Thomas Gayer. Thomas was a client that had been coming to the lodge repeatedly prior to Ingram's ownership. Thomas' love of fly fishing and the great outdoors made it a perfect fit. The name changed again to Ingram's Base Camp. The property continued to be improved with additional cabins.
In 2008, the Ingram's decided to explore other opportunities, Thomas and his wife Barbara took over the sole ownership and management of the lodge and Eagle Landing Resort was born.
In 2020, the Gayer’s sold to a local lodging business, Grizzly Ridge. Eagle Landing Resort and Grizzly Ridge together have over 20 cabins, multiple lodge rooms, and a general store where you can find great coffee, ice cream, souvenirs, and so much more. We are excited to continue to grow in Cooper Landing and share our love of what we feel is one of the most beautiful little towns on earth! We love our guest and hope to provide the best lodging experience Alaska has to offer while you enjoy your dream trip to The Last Frontier.
As you can see, this has been a vacation destination for many years, with some of our clients returning faithfully year after year for the past 35 years. It is like family coming for a visit.
